A quick update

It has been a busy week! If I may, I thought I might share a thing or two about the Orme household these days.

David: This week Dave was congratulated at the hospital as "Resident of the Month". I still haven't gone down to see the picture and award displayed. Does this really surprise me? No. This is however the first time a "triple boarder" has received this title. Dave is a hard worker and it is impossible for his hard work to go unnoticed. Besides slaving away at the hospital these days he still finds quite a bit of time for sports. He is now playing on a new basket ball league on Wednesday nights and the kids and I were all able to watch one of his indoor soccer games on Tuesday night this week. It is fun to see him still loving sports as much as he always has.

Joshua: He has a big birthday coming up soon. On the 28th of February (actually the 29th) he will turn 7 years old. I will get pictures posted for sure for the birthday party we are planning. He wants a "soccer" party this year. We bought the trophies last month along with all the party favors and soccer decorations. Josh is loving his basket ball season and still playing hockey once a week. I wish I could say he LOVES the piano, but that would be a big lie. Too bad he doesn't have a choice on that one, yet...

Maddie: Maddie's favorite past time is coloring. She spends an hour or two everyday with a crayon or marker in her hand. She is very attentive to detail. Maddie makes friends like a drop of the hat. She is very easy going. It is nice that she is happy to do whatever I have planned for the day and doesn't put up a fight when I ask for her help. She loves to pick out her own outfits, do her own hair and make up, and we just watched one of my favorite movies 3 times this week, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." Maddie just started a new dance class. We are excited for her first dance recital this spring. We have ordered a beautiful red and frilly costume for her "tomato " dance. Maddie is also taking some ice skating lessons right now and is adorable out there on the ice.

Tyler: Hmmmm.... this kid is hilarious. I love the way he is finding ways to communicate with me all day long. The sign language thing is really getting fun. He loves it. Tyler loves his brother and sister so much. Tonight Josh and Maddie were running around being really hyper and screaming. Tyler was following them from room to room laughing and squealing too. He loves tackling Maddie and Josh on the bed. He is turning into quite an amazing dancer and imitator. It is crazy to think he is not going to be the baby anymore.

Tucker: He still annoys me most of the time. Sorry, that is all I can say. I know what people mean when they say having a dog is harder than kids. Tucker is more destructive and makes more messes for me to clean up than all three of my kids put together. I will say he is a super sweet dog though.

Kristine: This weekend was my performance of "The Creation", by Haydn. It has been truly inspiring learning this music and singing with the orchestra. I had rehearsal every night this week. The only night I skipped rehearsal was Tuesday. Whew! It has been exhausting and Dave has done an amazing job at putting the kids to bed every night. I don't think Dave can possibly understand how grateful I feel to be singing with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. With each concert, I am taken back by the level of professionalism and talent. I am learning so much and enjoying every minute of being surrounded by such fabulous musicians. Plus, I have met a friend who I knew we would have a deeply connected friendship from our first conversation. We performed "Creation" last night and tonight. Our next concert will be the end of March for the "Broadway Pops" concert. Such fun music! I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to develop this talent.

You guys are busy. We loved watching your videos this week. So fun. Congrats, Dave on your resident award. You deserve it and I know you are doing a great job. Have a great week. We went skiing at Brighton on Friday. It wasn't the same without you.
Love you all,
Linds
